Project OverviewThe Client brief was to provide a state of the art cabling infrastructure capable of supporting the latest secure systems, tools and innovations required for a 21st century police force.

GPH reviewed and developed the initial project scope to encompass current ICT standards and future technological advancements into the final design to enable the MPS to have access to the very best cabling solutions available.

GPH Datacoms were awarded the contract by Mace due to our wealth of experience and expertise working alongside the MPS over many years and our understanding of the unique environment and challenges presented by the project.
Scope Of Work
  • 5000 CAT6a U/FTP Brand Rex structured cabling outlets

  • Horizontal Blown fibre Tube system

  • OM4, OS2 & Blown Fibre Tube backbone systems

  • External OS2 fibre backbone for the CCTV system


    • Copper Backbone links which included:
  • Multi pair voice links

  • CAT6a U/FTP links


  • Internal comms room Hydra links

  • Prism Cabinets supplied with an Intelligent PDU system to allow remote monitoring by the MPS of power consumption.

  • Supply and installation of copper and fibre patch cords

  • Installation of plastic and galvanised secondary Containment


    • We supplied and installed:
  • Over 150 miles of CAT6a U/FTP cable

  • Over 100 miles of Fibre Optic cable
